While traveling the world together, they have discovered that meeting new people and walking through great places where history is felt, is an experience to be treasured.
Having the opportunity to learn how life is lived throughout parts of the world, somehow awakens new parts of yourself, and changes you for the better.
Jess and Brett have always been a couple with a thirst for adventure and buying the house of cork and ivy on the Portuguese Island of Madeira, is a new chapter and the start of something great to come.
Discovery through travel has been one of the great joys of their lives. Visiting place to place, learning about cuisine and how it ties into the culture of a society is a great lesson in humanity and speaks straight to the heart for this couple.
Now, they’re able to curate a heartfelt experience for others to treasure as they take in the sites of Madeira. May their guests also enjoy learning about the land, food, culture, and history of the people of Madeira. For this couple it is an immense joy to share with those who are also inspired by this great world.
About Jess
Jess is not only is a travel nut, but she has built a business around just that, in the USA both in San Diego, CA and then again in Portland, Oregon.
As a chef and caterer, and the owner of her own business, it was a no brainer to incorporate her travel experience into the business plan.
Creating and developing recipes and menus of international cuisine for clients is a joy for her. She loves being inspired by flavors on her travels with Brett. The challenge of recreating an inspired international dish with local ingredients is her passion.
Her clients often ask, where was the last place you visited, and can you create that for the next event?
The greatest aspect of her business of 15 years has been becoming a cooking class instructor.
For the cooking classes, she creates a curriculum, with a full menu demonstration and dinner to enjoy. The class is always informative, and the discussions about those memorable meals that were enjoyed by the couple is always entertaining and full of enthusiasm.
This is always a good time and is regularly requested by her clients.
About Brett
Travel and details are Brett’s strong points. Brett always lines up the perfect itinerary for the couple’s excursions. Striking the right balance of adventure and downtime is the key to a great trip for this couple. Understanding what the needs are and creating a formula has worked out well. This is the case in business together too. When Brett can peel himself away from his day job, he enjoys joining his wife for the cooking classes.
Together Jess and Brett are an entertaining and informative teaching duo.
He adds his cocktail mastery to the party, demonstrating skill with a new inspired beverage to pair with the dinner Chef Jess has planned.
Often the class begins with a complimentary cocktail or mocktail, then a full menu demonstration and storytelling by the couple about the place where the dishes and cocktails were enjoyed and why these dishes were so special to them.
Sharing treasured experiences and memories of traveling the world is what they love.
